Wish List - Updated January, 2008

We welcome useful donations of many types! The Good Life Center is a non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.

We surely could use...

  • garden tools: any spare tools in good repair, especially digging forks, lawn rakes
  • fruit trees, nut trees, berry bushes
  • a photocopier machine
  • filing cabinets

1. Get to Bucksport:

From the South
Take I-95 north to Exit 113, Augusta; then follow Rte. 3 to Belfast; turn left on Route 1, north, to Bucksport.

From the North,
Take I-95 to Bangor, then Route 15 south to Bucksport.

2. From Bucksport:

  • Follow Rte. 1 downeast (through Orland) about 5 miles.
  • At the Shell/Big Apple gas station, take a right onto Route 15 south towards Blue Hill. Helpful hint: follow signs for Holbrook Island Sanctuary, which is on the way to Forest Farm.
  • Drive several miles up a long, long hill (passing by the blueberry warehouse with the windmill on your right), turn right onto Route 199. Drive several miles, all the way to the T-intersection (Penobscot Town Hall will be in front of you).
  • Turn left onto Route 175, south to Brooksville.
  • At C+G Growers' greenhouses, turn right onto Route 176 going west.
  • At T-intersection after Bagaduce Lunch, stay on Route 176 west (a right) towards and through North and West Brooksville.
  • After several miles of steep hills and bends, you will pass the Brooksville Town Hall/Library/Fire Station on your left. A few hundred yards past this, take a right onto Cape Rosier Road.
  • * * * Drive 4.2 miles (...going past Holbrook Island Sanctuary on right (don't turn), and Undercliff further down the road on left....) to a wide T-intersection at the Rainbow/Rosier Grange Hall (gambrel roof/barn-like building).
  • At the Grange Hall, turn right, go 2.0 miles to a stop sign in Harborside (just a collection of houses). Take a left on Harborside Road, drive 1.9 miles (...past a cove that comes up to the road on the right and "Point of View" deer farm...).
  • Forest Farm will be on your right, just opposite Orr Cove (unmarked small beach).

or from Blue Hill...

  • Follow the Mines Road out of the village (past the library, up the hill, past Tradewinds Marketplace)
  • After 5 or so miles, you stop at a T-intersection. Take a left, going south on Rte. 15.
  • In 4-5 miles, take a right on Rte. 175 towards Brooksville.
  • In .6 miles, bear to left on Rte. 176, following signs to Holbrook Island Sanctuary. Follow this hilly road 5 miles; take a left on Cape Rosier Road.
  • Follow directions from ***, above.
